Gee, the roads sink again... Beijing has another problem to worry about...

Contents

You remember when this happened way back in January 2006? A section of the 3rd ring road side street sank causing major traffic problems for several days. Well, it happened again, but this time closer to my home, and near the “old SOHO” complex - an area quickly becoming engolfed by the central business district. (i.e. it’s developing at a very rapid pace). The slightly scary, or worrying, part of this is I drive on this very road quite often. Yikes… https://cdrumblog.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/58801196358177811.jpghttps://cdrumblog.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/99801196357484311.jpg (Note: Photos “borrowed” from The Beijing Times. See this page.) It’s near my home, so I am going to try to snap a few photos this morning on my way out… We’ll see how that goes… Update: This appears to have been fixed as of mid week. (around Dec. 4 or 5)
