Sorry everyone, I’ve been neglecting this blog. Been busy with work, planning our two weddings, and writing on our wedding blog. Go to http://www.chrisandmel.info.

With Twitter, I have really neglected this blog. What should I be doing here? I thought about using a service like Tumblr or Postulous and try to integrate everything – so there would be a somewhat aggregate of everything I’m doing online, but then I loose my domain branding and old posts…

Another option is simplify my blog (don’t use such a flashy and jquery heavy theme – go back to basics – and see if there are any good wordpress plugins to do what I want (bringing in twitter, flickr, etc – in a type of auto-feed mechanism.

Just some thoughts….

I don’t want to get rid of the blog as some people from my past (Sid) still comes here from time to time, so I will try to update it a bit more often, just need to figure out how.

An hour and a half before I need to go to the airport, I figured that since I have some down time, I would upgrade WOrdpress and other stuff on my site!

Risky?

Update: Wow, that was a piece of cake.

Folks, I’ll be updating my WordPress software today as I’ve fallen a bit behind with the updates, and some of the plugins aren’t being actively developed anymore, so I’ll be looking into those.

So, for the 2 of you who routinely visit this blog, the site might be “broken” for a while. Sorry.

Update: Ok, maybe not today, I got sidetracked into doing something else. Soon!

About 20 minutes after I posted my blog post on Google’s new Google Maps Mobile client, I noticed I got a pingback, or whatever it’s called. This pingback goes to a website http://0d1.info/gps/, which looks like a Google Adsense farm rss aggregator. This means, they’re taking other people’s blog posts and putting Google Adsense adds on them.
Here, have a look (click on the image to see the full size screenshot). Look at all the ads! They didn’t even keep my photos! I wonder if they’re spidring the net for any post with “gps” as a tag?

I don’t think so…

Thanks to my colleagues at work for suggesting, I have started using a new theme called Mandigo.  This replaces K2 which I found to be buggy and a bit boring / over-used.

I also upgraded WordPress to the newest version, 2.3.1.

The changes are a work in progress – I’ll be tinkering with things over the next several weeks.  Sorry if I break something…
